'Having lost family and my community recently, this project...has given me a new community – welcoming and inclusive – and confidence in what I can achieve, confidence I had lost’ - Volunteer
Volunteers are at the heart of Grow Cardiff’s work and we wouldn’t be able to do anything without their support, commitment, energy and ideas. In the last year over 800 individuals volunteered with us across our different projects. Our volunteers range from pint-sized enthusiasts jumping in muddy puddles to more senior members of the community and everyone in-between. Almost anyone can volunteer with us, no experience at all is necessary – just a willingness to pitch in and learn. Under 18s are welcome too – you just need to come with a parent, guardian or support worker.
We believe everyone has something to offer, whether you are an experienced grower or you have never grown before. Perhaps you can make a cup of tea for the team, build something, sow something, harvest something, cook something, create a wildlife habitat, care for honey bees, encourage and support someone, make us all laugh – everyone has something they can offer and we’d love to hear from you if you’d like to volunteer with us.
Volunteers support our community gardens across the city, work alongside staff with children in schools, support patient volunteers in our social prescribing community gardens and support the charity's work by becoming a trustee. Curious? Check out our current projects and see where you can get involved.
