A Happy New Year from Grow Cardiff

Updated: Jan 2, 2022

From all the Grow Cardiff team - Alka, Chris, Claire and myself - we wish you a very happy and healthy New Year. 2021 was a super tough year, but also one with unexpected opportunities to introduce people to growing at home. Over 250 households took part in our 'grow from home' lockdown project, 100 households grew their own tomatoes and courgettes as Claire delivered grow bags across SW Cardiff, Chris helped over 650 school children in hubs to grow and Alka has been busy supporting people to grow in Riverside and through the Growing Companions Project. None of this would have been possible without our partners and funders, Moondance Foundation, Comic Relief, Community Foundation in Wales and CVUHB. Special shout out to Bill Taylor-Beales, Kevin Rahman-Daultry, Louise Gray, everyone at Social Farms and Gardens, Pearl Costello and the Cardiff Growing Together movement that sprang up this year, Dave King, the SW Primary Care Cluster, ACE and all the volunteers at Riverside Community Garden who kept a garden thriving and achieved a Green Flag Award. Thanks to everyone who has supported us and grown with us. Here's to more adventures in growing in 2022!
