Sow Some Sunshine

Over the next 12 weeks we will be looking to involve as many children as possible in the Hub schools, including those not currently attending (but highlighted as potentially benefiting from this scheme due to possible isolation) which will mean a lot of packs to get out in a short space of time, but we are up for the challenge!

I'm glad to have the advice, support and technical experience of Bill and Isla as colleagues on this project plus the wider family here at Grow Cardiff who I'm sure will also help us build momentum and share ideas & content as we head through the weeks ahead.

Our primary aim with this project is to give lots of children (and their respective families) the opportunity to access nature within the classroom and at home growing their own sunflowers/salads/herbs during a time when normal movement is restricted due to the Covid 19 pandemic.

With the pressures these uncertain times are putting on individuals and families we hope to be able to provide some fun activities and introduce lots of children to nature, gardening and the physical/mental health benefits it can bring as well as informative learning tools via the website and links to relevant sites and content which we feel is appropriate and educational at this difficult time.
