Meet The Team
Chris
My name is Chris Miller and I am delighted to be the new Schools Engagement Officer with Grow Cardiff and heading up the new Sow Some Sunshine project, which will involve working with a number of Cardiff Hub Schools over the next 12 weeks.
As a father of two Primary School children who have helped me garden at home, at the allotment and at their school, coupled with their previous experience of Grow Cardiff classroom projects, I have an insight into how these projects can work in getting children involved in nature which can stimulate the bodies and minds of children of all ages.
Personally I’ve gardened for about the last 20 years, where I’ve both created gardens at home and at work (in my other role as a Support Worker) and annually took on the challenges of half an allotment plot a few miles from home. There have been many highlights (and plenty of failures) but that is just part of the highs & lows of growing and gardening, whether it’s vegetables going to seed due to prolonged dry weather to seedlings being savaged by slugs and snails!
My experience of getting my hands dirty, plus my various job roles over the years, which have heavily involved empowering vulnerable groups to access gardening, partnership working and proactively leading with initiative will hopefully stand me in good stead as we start this exciting Grow Cardiff project.

Isla
Isla is Grow Cardiff's Director and has been working in schools with children, teachers and parents across Cardiff for the charity for the last 5 years. Isla is super excited about the project and will be supporting Chris to manage Sow Some Sunshine over the next 12 weeks.
Bill
Bill is a creative practitioner working with schools and young people in a variety of settings. Bill has been involved in the Arts Council Of Wales (ACW) Lead Creative Schools programs and is an Arts Associate with ACW. His key areas of practice are:
